CC Sabathia is 6 Strikeouts Away From Joining a Elite club of pitchers… Will He Make It?

CC Sabathia currently is only 6 strikeouts away from being the 17th player, the third lefty, to reach 3,000 career strikeouts. The veteran lefty is currently 90 strikeouts away from John Smoltz, who was the 16th player to reach 3,000 strikeouts, and ended his career with 3,084 strikeouts. CC is in his final season, and has a chance at having the 16th-most strikeouts in the game. After being asked about looking back at his first strikeout, he said that “I remember thinking it was kind of wack because I faced Mike Kinkade a bunch in the Minor Leagues, and I was wishing it was Cal Ripken.
